Yesterday, our church participated in our community's annual Christmas parade. Living in a small town only for a short time, I was a bit apprehensive. The parade route is down our Main St. which is only like two blocks... so I was thinking there would be about 20 people and that it would last about 5 minutes.
HOWEVER, there were a few hundred people and it lasted a while: there were quite a few floats (my school participated as well, but I rode with my church group) but OUR float had a snow machine that everyone freaked out about. It was SO fun because a lot of the kids have never ever seen snow... that's South Texas, for ya.
Afterwards, we invited the community to our church facilities for more snow machine fun, hot chocolate, and popcorn. Also, Santa was there taking pictures, asking others what they wanted for Christmas, and he even gave out a book and a candy cane to each child.

Sam and I: our group dressed up as "RAINdeer" because our float's theme was "It's Raindeer Time: Join us as we continue to pray for rain!" so we all had reindeer antlers and jingle bell bracelets. When we waved, it jingled as well! So efficient!
He's pretty cute as a reindeer, don't ya think? :)
Nate put on sunglasses during the parade so the "snow" wouldn't get in his eyes! You can see the snow whipping by his face!
It was a great time and a great way to get into the holiday spirit (and it's only Dec. 3, hooray)!
I am born and raised in MI so not ever seeing snow is like not breathing here! glad it was such a fun event!
