[love] Family Fun Weekend

I'm back to share my fun weekend with my family! I'll let the pictures do the talking.

My lovely parents who treated us to the State Fair of Texas (in Dallas): lots of food, shopping, carnival rides (no thank you), "shows", and food. Yes, I said it twice.

Hubs and I on the TRE (railway train to downtown Dallas)

New train: on the DART rail headed to the front gate of the fair! My two favorite fellas. Missing my third (my older brother, who is in S. Korea)

My mom and I: yes, I look pretty much identical to her. I didn't inherit that many physical traits from my dad!

This is Big Tex, the icon of the state fair! Every 20 minutes or so, he'll talk to everybody. It is ridiculous how large he is (when you are a child: when you get older, he doesn't appear to be that big). He's very nostalgic to us Texans (who have visited the fair, anyways)!

Fletcher's corn dogs: the best! This was around 10am :)

Chevy has a test drive area when you can drive all of the new 2013 models. Nate was obsessed with this Avalanche truck: he wants it so bad!

Eating again! My favorite treat at the fair are Tornado Taters: a potato cut into a huge spiral with an apple peeler and then deep fried. Served with cajun seasoning and ketchup. Yum!

I was able to pet Elsie the cow from Borden's milk, ha! I was basically freaking out in this picture.

Lots more happened at the fair, but moving on! That night, we attended the Texas Rangers (baseball) game. My favoriteee!

Hubs and I overlooking the field. Beautiful sight.

Mom and I ready to cheer for our boys! They lost... but it's okay! They're still heading to the playoffs!

I would much rather watch these "Friday Night Lights" than any high school football game (we went Friday night).

After the game was over, the crowd was treated to a fireworks show! It was fabulous because it was beautiful but also because it was set to Texas country! Now, I'm not a huge fan of country music (mainly Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert, who is Texas country anyways, is good enough for me), but TEXAS country music (Pat Green, Josh Abbott Band, Eli Young Band, Randy Rogers Band, lots of "bands", ha!)? I'll take that!

Here's a taste of Texas country: it's not a video, but you can hear the song :)  "My Texas" by Josh Abbott Band (they played this during the fireworks)

Happy Tuesday! I am SO EXCITED to share tomorrow's post with you! #15 on my 30 before 30 list has been conquered! Yaaaayyyy!

[love] Gender Reveal Party

Before you get excited, no I am not pregnant.

Last weekend, my friend Bonnie had her gender reveal party for HER pregnancy. I helped with decorations and therefore she said I could blog about it! You KNOW you have a good friend when she knows what you like to blog about! Ha!

Her dad is a coach and her family is full of sports fanatics. It was fitting to have a football themed gender reveal party! Everything from the invitations (ordered from Etsy), the decor, and even the food all had football twists added to them. The name of the game was "Team Pink" vs. "Team Blue"! So cute, right?

She enlisted me to help her with decorations the week of the party. I busted out my Silhouette and we got to cutting, gluing, and all of the wonderfulness that goes with crafting. We also made poufs (which you know I love to make)!

At the party, the way Bonnie and her husband shared the gender was with cake! They gave the sonogram (which they had not seen yet) to a baker and she dyed the cake batter pink or blue, depending on if it was a boy or girl.

I wore pink to the party (Team Pink) and Nate wore blue (Team Blue): this is how everyone shared which "team" they were on! Adorable!

Getting ready to cut the cake... what will it be, pink or blue?

 It's a...

BOY! Do you see the blue cake on the table? Precious! It was such a sweet moment, so glad I was there to share it with Bonnie and her family!

So excited to welcome a bouncing baby boy in February! Congratulations you two! Thank you for inviting Nate and I to such a special moment in your lives!

Love us! She is such a sweet and dear friend to me!

Have a wonderful Monday!
