February Candle

I just shared about my new "candle of the month", so here is February's candle.

February's candle was given to me as a birthday gift (my birthday is in December, but I received this gift from my principal in January). It is called "Caramel Pecan" from the Better Homes and Gardens line at WALMART. Heck yes :) It smells divineeeee.

Do you see a pattern? I like candles that smell like food... I'm weird. I promise I also like regular smelling candles :) Again, the gift of inexpensiveness: this candle is $11. It comes with this lamp thingy that goes on the top themed for Christmas, but I just popped it off and now I can enjoy it year-round! Hooray!

This candle sits on our coffee table in the living room. Our home has constantly smelled like sweet, almost cinnamon-y goodness. Yum.

Maybe for March, I will have a lighter, clean-smelling candle... but I also purchased another candle that smells like a certain morning beverage... We shall see :)

Candles

Well, I am taking an idea from Holly @Life In the Fun Lane that has to do with candles. Each month, she shares a new candle she is enjoying.

I have always liked candles, but I have never been a candle "super fan" until Christmas. Ever since Christmas, Nate and I have agreed to have a candle lit at ALL times if we are home. Being in a minister household, you NEVER know who will drop by and at what time... so, let me start with January's candle!

This candle is called "Sugar Cookie" from Darsee and David's Fragrance Collection.  It was in my stocking from my in-laws for Christmas (hence why the super-fan-ness of candles started happening around Christmas time). It was purchased at Hobby Lobby :) so you know it has to be good.

I don't believe that candles have to be expensive in order to make your home smell lovely and to make your home more comfy and cozy. This candle was only $10, which makes my heart and my wallet smile. And it smells fantastic: JUST like cookies, sweet, but not too in your face.

This candle sits in our front foyer on our new entry desk (where we store mail and messages). Its simple elegance makes the entry feel more home-y and relaxing.

Stay tuned for February's candle!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We had a great day at school exchanging Valentine's, eating cookies, eating cupcakes, all that fun stuff :) We (mainly me) also enjoyed a beautiful bouquet that was sent to me by Nathan! He's the absolute best... the bee's knees... you know, the whole package!

We had a nice dinner at home (we went out to eat on Saturday for a nice lunch and some shopping: Nate bought me a James Avery charm bracelet to start my "college/adult" charm bracelet... I have a humongous one that is all middle/high school memories), followed by a movie date and snackage on my candy that my kids' gave me :) All in all, a sweet evening with my sweet :)

My kiddos were thrilled to say the least- they think it's so sweet! And I do too :)
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
